Cable giant Virgin Media, formerly NTL, has begun legal proceedings in the UK High Court against UK satellite broadcaster British Sky Broadcasting Group.

Broadcaster BSkyB warned today of a possible pounds 20m hit to profits if a row with Virgin Media leads to its basic channels being pulled from the cable network.
