Houston-based exploration and production firm Southern Star Energy has appointed Douglas Harwell as operations manager. Mr Harwell has 10 years of oil and gas experience, most recently serving as the manager of special projects with Cannon Services, a privately held oilfield service company.

Southern Star Energy has appointed Hilda Kouvelis as its new chief financial officer. Ms Kouvelis has 23 years of experience as a financial controller with various companies and has been a certified public accountant since 1983.
