Swedish former world heavyweight boxing champion Ingemar Ingo Johansson has died at age 76, local media reported Saturday. Johansson, who defeated American Floyd Patterson in 1959 to become the world's heavyweight champion, died at his home in Kungsbacka in western Sweden shortly before midnight Friday, the Swedish Web site The Local reported. Johansson was considered one of the greatest Swedish sportsman in history, the report said.
