NEW YORK, Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The Weinstein Company (TWC) has acquired the worldwide rights to produce and distribute the feature film adaptation of the multiple Tony Award-winning play August: Osage County. Harvey Weinstein, co-chairman of TWC, will serve as one of the producers on the film.
A movie adaptation of the celebrated U.S. play, "August: Osage County," reportedly is in the works. Tracy Letts's stage drama, which premiered at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theater last summer before moving to Broadway, has won the Pulitzer Prize and five Tony awards.
