Over a thudding beat, some hand-claps and a barely-there guitar melody, Kim Deal wails, "I love no one and no one loves me/I'm missing, I'm missing, I'm missing, I'm missing-guhhh." Substitute "want" for "love" in the second verse and you've got "Bang On," a two-minute blast of post-punk minimalism from "Mountain Battles," the Breeders' first album in six years (4AD Records).
