Singer-actress Shirley Jones is set to make an appearance on the U.S.

The daughter of The Partridge Family star David Cassidy reportedly will star in the CW's upcoming series Melrose Place. The Hollywood Reporter said Friday that Katie Cassidy will play sexy publicist Ella Flynn on Melrose, a spin-off of the original Melrose series that aired in the 1990s.

A new version of the classic 1970s TV series "The Partridge Family" is in the works, The Hollywood Reporter said.
