The U.S. cable television network Showtime says it has ordered a third season of Tracey Ullman's State of the Union sketch comedy series. Showtime said it has ordered seven new episodes, which are to go into production this summer. They are scheduled to air on the network next year.

The Los Angeles branch of BAFTA presented Tracey Ullman with its inaugural Charlie Chaplin award at the British Comedy Festival and Awards. The prize, which was given out Friday at a ceremony presided over by Sharon Osbourne, recognizes the British actress and comedian's lifetime body of work, the BBC said.
