The NHL Sunday suspended Dallas forward Steve Ott under an attempt to injure rule because of his actions in an altercation immediately after a game. Ott was assessed a match penalty for an alleged eye-gouging in an encounter with Anaheim forward Travis Moen after the final buzzer in a 4-3 loss to the Ducks Saturday. The NHL said the penalty was assessed under Rule 21.1 -- attempt to injure. Ott was suspended indefinitely pending a hearing. It was an accident.
