The contest went to overtime tied 97-97 after Boston's Paul Pierce made only one of two free throws with two seconds left in the fourth period. Rookie guard Derrick Rose, making his NBA playoff debut, led Chicago with 36 points and 11 assists.

Chicago's Ben Gordon and Tyrus Thomas scored 24 points apiece Thursday in a 113-99 Bulls victory over the Philadelphia 76ers 113-99. The win moved the Bulls, who are in seventh place in the Eastern Conference, closer to clinching a playoff spot. Derrick Rose added 16 points and Brad Miller scored 15 for Chicago. Andre Miller had 20 points for Philadelphia, which is already headed for the playoffs.
