KIDNEY LAKE, Duchesne County -- A 14-year-old Boy Scout has been missing in the high Uinta Mountains since Tuesday. The teen was last seen around 5 p.m. Tuesday, but police were not notified until just after 6 p.m. Wednesday, said Duchesne County sheriff's deputy Aaron Chapman.

A snowstorm and high winds are expected to increase the danger in Utah's backcountry this weekend, according to the Utah Avalanche Center. The National Weather Service forecasts a Saturday storm that could bring nearly a foot of new snow to the mountains around Salt Lake City.
