Text of report by private Ukrainian news agency UNIAN Yenakiyeve, 9 June: According to preliminary information, 21 alive miners were rescued from a depth of 1,000 m at the Karl Marx mine. The first four miners are being lifted to surface, an UNIAN correspondent has reported.

Excerpt from report by private Ukrainian news agency UNIAN Kiev, 25 February: Power generating unit No 2 at the Rivne nuclear power plant was reconnected to the power grid at 0811 gmt on 22 February after malfunctions had been fixed, the press service of the national nuclear energy generating company, Enerhoatom, has said.

The Ukrainian oil and gas company Naftohaz Ukrayiny and the Russian gas monopoly Gazprom have reached an agreement, Ukrainian news agency UNIAN quoted the press service of the Ukrainian cabinet on 11 February.

Ukraine will pay off its gas debts in exchange for a direct contract on gas supplies with the Russian gas monopoly Gazprom, First Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Turchynov has said.

The Kiev-based independent media trade union and the Mass Media Institute have urged law enforcement bodies to spare no effort to find those who attacked on 8 December Maksym Birovash, a correspondent of the Business newspaper, the Ukrainian news agency UNIAN reported on 17 December.
