Chuck and Law & Order are on NBC's 2009-2010 programming schedule, the network announced in New York Tuesday. The season will be the 20th for L&O. NBC also said it plans to feature more original programming than ever and unveiled a shared time-period strategy around NBC's Olympics platform that, along with new prime time chat series The Jay Leno Show, allows the network to broadcast all-new content year-round. NBC has picked up more scripted shows than last season even with 'The Jay Leno Show' at 10 p.m., Ben Silverman, co-chairman of NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios, said in a statement.

Actor, producer and comedian Nick Cannon has signed on to be the new host of America's Got Talent, NBC said. Cannon will join the talent-competition series when it returns next summer for its fourth season, it was announced Monday by Paul Telegdy, executive vice president of alternative programming for NBC and Universal Media Studios. Regis Philbin was the variety show's host for the first season and Jerry Springer presided over the next two editions of the series. Nick exemplifies the spirit of 'America's Got Talent' with his talent, originality and an infectious love of performing and creating, Telegdy said in a statement.
