SCHOOLS are struggling to recruit top quality maths teachers with many trainees lacking good degrees, research found today. Nine out of 10 trainee classics teachers have a first or upper second class university degree, but just 42per cent of maths trainees are similarly qualified.
TOO many pupils are being denied the chance to find out if they are good at physics because of a shortage of specialist teachers, according to research published today. A study at the University of Buckingham called for colleges and schools to share physics lecturers to help ease the shortage.
