BATON ROUGE, La.

GORHAM - On Friday, Oct. 17, the University of Southern Maine will present "Slides, Whistles and Songs," an evening of musical fun with trombonist Brian Diehl, Boston-based USM artist faculty, accompanied by pianist Anastasia Antonacos.

GORHAM - The University of Southern Maine's department of theater will present "Fool for Love," Sam Shepard's unsettling tale of love and hate, Oct. 3-11.

AUBURN - Central Maine Community College President Scott Knapp announced the following faculty appointments: Stephen Doak will teach in the Business Administration and Management program.

LEWISTON - A new course, "Cancer and Society," will be offered during the fall semester at the University of Southern Maine's Lewiston-Auburn College from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays, beginning Sept. 2.
