Complementary markers for Dade Behring's portfolio for the diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome Dade Behring (NASDAQ:DADE), the University of Frankfurt and Innovectis announced the signing of an exclusive license agreement which provides Dade Behring with worldwide rights for the inventions of Professor Zeiher's group at the University of Frankfurt that relate to placental growth factor (PlGF) for cardiovascular diseases (CVD), soluble CD40 ligand (sCD40L) for the prognosis of the course of disease in acute coronary syndrome (ACS), and additional markers for cardiovascular diseases.
By Ed Edelson, HealthDay ReporterHealthDayNews -- Infusing a patient's own stem cells into a heart artery several days after a heart attack improves the heart's pumping power and speeds the healing process, German cardiologists report.The stem cell infusions increased the amount of blood ejected by the left ventricle, the heart's main pumping center, by nearly 20 percent and decreased tissue damage by 20 percent, the study says.The findings, by researchers at the University of Frankfurt, appear in the Oct.
