Volvo Buses has signed a letter of intent covering the sale of the body plant in Turku, Finland. The plant in Turku produces bodies for the Volvo 9700 model. The Turku plant is claimed to be the smallest plant within Volvo Buses, primarily producing for the Nordic markets.

Volvo Buses has inaugurated a new body plant in Bangalore, India. The body plant will be operated by a new joint-venture company with the co-operation partner Jaico Automobiles.
Volvo Buses is opening a body plant in Bangalore, India, to gain a base for the production of complete buses for India and other growing Asian markets. The new plant has a capacity of 1,000 buses annually and the company expects to have about 600 employees at the end of 2008.
