VOLUNTEERS are needed to help a wildlife reserve bring nature and people closer together. Washington Wetland Centre is recruiting volunteers to join its learning team and act as a vital point of contact for visitors out in the grounds.

May Day will see the unveiling of a revamp of a major North-East wildlife attraction. Prof David Bellamy will perform the official opening of Washington Wetland Centre's latest redevelopment on May 1.
