A long-serving doctor fell to his death at Waikato Hospital yesterday, the Waikato Times understands. Waikato Hospital officials and police confirmed the man's body was found about 10.30am. But both sets of officials are saying little else.

There were claims last week overcrowding and delays in hospital emergency departments were as big a killers as road crashes in New Zealand. For the record, 422 died as a result of road smashes in 2007.
