By HYWEL TREWYN A WATER company last night promised lessons would be learned after it was fined pounds 5,000 over a blocked sewer which caused the death of 300 fish. Dwr Cymru/Welsh Water admitted two pollution charges at Wrexham magistrates court and was also ordered to pay pounds 1,000 costs.
ENVIRONMENT Agency experts were last night investigating after a blaze in a wood pile at a skip hire company. The agency said a fire at the same site last year polluted the Dee, but this time the river was clean. Forty firefighters fought the blaze on Wrexham Industrial Estate on Friday.
