Pat Burrell drove in the deciding run in the eighth inning Monday to give the Tampa Bay Rays a 7-6 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. Willy Aybar hit a three-run homer for the Rays, who have won seven of their last 10 games.

Tampa Bay Rays first baseman Carlos Pena will miss the rest of the 2009 season after breaking two fingers Monday in a 4-1 loss to the Yankees. Pena tried to check his swing on a pitch while batting in the first inning but the ball hit his bat and left hand simultaneously.

Carl Crawford drove in three runs and Jason Bartlett knocked in a pair Monday in Tampa Bay's 10-4 victory over Kansas City. Crawford and Bartlett both finished with three hits, with Bartlett also getting a walk but coming up a homer short of the cycle. Willy Aybar homered twice and Carlos Pena hit a two-run single as the Rays won for the fourth time in their last six games and pulled within 5 1/2 games of the first-place New York Yankees in the American League East.

Jason Bartlett's 12th-inning double Saturday lifted Tampa Bay to a 10-9 win over Toronto. Carlos Pena and Willy Aybar hit one-out solo homers in the ninth, with Aybar's creating a 9-9 tie. Pena finished with two hits and four RBI. Aybar and Pat Burrell had two RBI apiece. B.J.

Eric Aybar had four hits and three RBI to key the Los Angeles Angels' 10-2 win in the nightcap of Tuesday's doubleheader sweep in Kansas City. Aybar, who had three hits and scored three runs in the opener, raised his batting average .016 to .315 for the season. Rookie Sean O'Sullivan (3-0) allowed two runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings.
