WINFIELD - When Winfield High school students return to school in late August theyll find new classrooms and a larger cafeteria and library space. Work on an addition to the school is about a month ahead of schedule, Putnam County schools Superintendent Chuck Hatfield told board members Monday.

The year 2006 was an eventful one for Putnam County schools, with two major projects moving forward. While not a complete digest, the following are some of the events in school development in Putnam County during 2006.

Throughout 2006, Putnam County Schools was the recipient of several awards and honors, both for the entire system and for individual students and staff.
