Peter Budaj stopped the two shootout attempts he faced after having to make only 16 saves in regulation and overtime. It was the second win in three games for Colorado, which is in last place in the Western Conference. Marc-Andre Bergeron scored the only goal for Minnesota, losers of three out of four.

Matt Cullen's hat trick led the Carolina Hurricanes to a 5-2 victory Sunday over the Colorado Avalanche. Cullen scored in each period of the Hurricanes' third straight win for the first hat trick of his NHL career.

Wojtek Wolski chased his own rebound and snapped a shot past Alex Auld 1:20 into overtime Tuesday, handing Colorado a 3-2 win over Ottawa. Auld had stopped Wolski's initial shot, a slap shot from just inside the blue line.
