BEIJING, Dec.

SkyTeam, the global airline alliance, today formally accepted the joining of Xiamen Airlines into the alliance. China's sixth largest airline, Xiamen Airlines begins the joining process leading to full entry into SkyTeam by the end of 2012, further strengthening the alliance offer in the flourishing southeast China region.

SEATTLE, Aug. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Boeing (NYSE: BA) has reached a major milestone with Xiamen Airlines by delivering a Next-Generation 737-700.

Alaska Airlines has completed its transition to an all-Boeing 737 aircraft fleet with the retirement of its last MD-80 series airplane, as a part of a two-year plan to increase its operational efficiency and improve fuel conservation.

Xiamen Airlines has selected a suite of Rockwell Collins avionics for 12 Boeing 737NG aircraft, with an option for an additional 25 aircraft. Delivery begins in 2009 and continues through 2013.
