Buddleja davidii or Summer Lilac is an indigenous shrub of northwest China and Japan and is widely cultivated for use as an ornamental plant. However, in England and parts of the northwestern United States it is considered an invasive weed. Often referred to as the Butterfly Bush, it is food for several species of butterflies.
