Oil prices rose above $64 a barrel in New York Monday morning, bolstered by Asian and European stock rallies and a falling U.S. dollar. Light, sweet crude for August delivery gained $1.27, or 2 percent, to $64.83 a barrel in mid-morning trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The contract advanced $1.54 in Friday trading. Crude oil prices dropped to an even $61 per barrel Thursday on concern that demand has dropped and stockpiles remain high. Crude oil shed 0.54 cents overnight to $61 per barrel. Heating oil fell 0.0074 cents to $1.5747 per gallon. Reformulated gasoline prices lost 0.0159 cents to $1.6922 per gallon. Natural gas rose 0.005 cents to $3.288 per gallon.
