By SCOTT FALLON, STAFF WRITER Workers have begun to fix tide gates in the Meadowlands as part of a much-anticipated project that promises to ease flooding on Route 17 in Rutherford. The highway, which closes an average of 12 times a year because of floods, will also see a dozen culverts installed to allow storm water to drain into nearby marshes.
