European experts in cardiovascular medicine will today gather at a two day symposium to address the national agenda on cardiovascular disease prevention, held at Imperial College London and sponsored by leading independent academic and professional publisher SAGE.
Identifying two proteins that indicate the presence of inflammation can provide an important tool in predicting a patient's risk of stroke, said Baylor College of Medicine researchers in a report that appeared in a recent issue of the journal Stroke.
Testing patient's blood for two proteins or biomarkers that occur when inflammation is present could help doctors identify which patients are more likely to have a stroke.
