Miami Dolphins quarterback Chad Pennington is to undergo a third surgery to his right shoulder Friday. The 10-year NFL veteran suffered a season-ending dislocated shoulder and damage to his rotator cuff when San Diego linebacker Kevin Burnett hit him in the third quarter Sunday. Pennington, 33, has been placed on the season-ending Injured Reserve List. It's very disheartening to lose any player and Chad's no different, Coach Tony Sparano told reporters Wednesday.

Pennington had three scoring tosses, two of them to Fasano, in a game played in temperatures that hovered near 10 degrees. The Dolphins (10-5) have won four straight games and remained at least tied for first-place in the AFC East.
