A pastor from northern Illinois swam 21 miles across the English Channel from England to France to raise money for an African school Rev. Mike Solberg of the Second Congregational Church in Rockford, Ill., said he completed his Saturday swim from Samphire Hoe, England, to Wissant, France, in 13 hours and 31 minutes, the St. Louis (Mo.) Dispatch reported Monday. Solberg said he raised more than $30,000 toward his goal of $50,000 to build a school in Waku Kungo, Angola.
