A STRANDED goose ruffled a few feathers yesterday when fire crews had to rescue it from a lake. Passers-by watched as the bird was pulled from the Walton Hall Park lake by a fire crew from Croxteth Fire Station and an RSPCA officer. It had become entangled in twine and, according to witnesses, had been stranded for two days. The goose was taken to an RSPCA shelter in Halewood and is recovering. (c) 2008 Liverpool Echo.
