DARE COUNTY | Dare County will unveil and demonstrate its new glass crusher at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Public Works Facility at 1018 Driftwood Drive in Manteo. The glass crusher eliminates the costs of transporting bottles to re cycling companies and will save the county about $30,000 a year. The 12th annual Remembrance Celebration of the Freedman's Colony of Roanoke Island takes place Friday, Sept. 26. "First Light of Freedom," as the free event is called, starts at 4 p.m. at the Fort Raleigh National Historic Site on U.S. 64 north of Manteo. DARE COUNTY | Tanger Outlet Centers will be selling a special Pink Card beginning Wednesday that will give customers a 25 percent discount at participating Tanger stores .
