Dracorex, meaning "dragon king", is a genus of dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous Period of North America. The type species, D. hogwartsia, is known from one nearly complete skull and four cervical vertebrae. The remains were discovered in the Hell Creek Formation in South Dakota by a group of amateur paleontologists from Sioux City, Iowa. It was formally described by Bob Bakker and Robert Sullivan in 2006. The species name hogwartsia was inspired by the Harry Potter series of books by J.K....
