German electricity and gas utility E.ON has announced that it will acquire a 25% stake minus one share in the Yuzhno Russkoye gas field in Siberia, Russia. In return, Gazprom will receive E.ON Ruhrgas's 49% stake in the Russian company, Gerosgaz, which holds under 3% of Gazprom shares. Through Gerosgaz, E.ON Ruhrgas is the owner of this share package which will be transferred to the ownership of Gazprom.
