Low-cost carrier Ryanair is to stop flights between East Midlands Airport and Shannon. The airline, the largest at the Castle Donington airport, will drop the Shannon to East Midlands route from October 31, after two new routes are added from the Irish airport. Nine baggage weighing scales at East Midlands Airport were found to be giving inaccurate readings. Trading standards officers carried out routine checks at the Castle Donington airport and found nine out of 52 scales were faulty.
