Researchers at Oregon State University have created a new, unifying method to describe a basic chemical concept called “electronegativity,” first described almost 80 years ago by OSU alumnus Linus Pauling and part of the work that led to his receiving the Nobel Prize.
An international team of researchers has discovered a new class of magnetic superhalogens â€“ a class of atomic clusters able to exhibit unusual stability at a specific size and composition, which may be used to advance materials science by allowing scientists to create a new class of salts with magnetic and super-oxidizing properties not previously found.
What has been impossible has now been shown to be possible â€“ an alloy between two incompatible elements.
