Florida police said an officer caught a 5-foot-long boa constrictor that was spotted by residents about 100 feet from a school. The officer caught the snake in a plastic container and brought it back to the Ocoee police station, where it was retrieved by animal control officers, WFTV, Orlando, Fla., reported Wednesday. WFTV said the reptile's eventual fate is uncertain, but it will likely be taken to a wildlife sanctuary with a snake enclosure.

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - Four workers clearing debris along the Great Miami River in southwest Ohio found a frozen eight-foot boa constrictor Monday morning. "We never expected this to happen," said Chris Miller, who was working with other McGraw-Kokosing Inc. workers to clean debris from recent floods and fill a sinkhole.
