Chinese authorities have evacuated nearly 400,000 people as tropical storm Kammuri headed northward after lashing Hong Kong with heavy rains. Most of those evacuated were from Guangdong province but similar measures were taken in Hainan and Guangxi Zhuang provinces, China Daily reported Thursday.
