An inter-governmental workshop held in London concluded that governments must get to the root of the underlying causes of biodiversity loss if they are to determine the rate at which ecosystems and their species are disappearing. An Australian energy company said there may be five or six substantial blocks of coal bed methane under the Llynfi Valley near Bridgend, Wales. The company, Eden Energy, which is working with two British companies, said one block could supply 5 percent of Britain's energy needs for a year, The Daily Telegraph reported.
