Intel Corp. announced Monday the release of its new Intel Atom platform -- formerly codenamed "Oak Trail" -- which is available now and will be installed in new tablet devices beginning in May and throughout the year. U.S. chipmaker Intel Corp. is expected to invest $2.7 billion over the next two years updating its chip manufacturing plant in southern Israel to produce 22 nanometer technology, according to a recent Reuters report.
