Let's just say at the very least over the several years that the director Lucy Bailey has been working at Shakespeare's Globe. Two summers ago, Bailey made her debut at the Bankside venue with a production of "Titus Andronicus" that saw spectators keeling over, mortified by the murderous fury of the Bard's bleakest, blackest text. Now, Bailey has returned to the Globe in comparably incisive form, this time...

And none will be bigger than one about a frog princess who makes history. In case you haven't heard, a new face will go onto the Disney Princess wall, a new face alongside the Little Mermaid, Mulan, Cinderella, Snow White, Jasmine, Aurora, Belle and Pocahontas. For more than a year now, the Walt Disney Co. has been trying to complete...

By Pat Craig, Contra Costa Times, Walnut Creek, Calif. Jul. 22--TRI-VALLEY Repertory Theatre will be making a lot of families happy with its charming production of "Disney's Beauty and the Beast," which opened during the weekend in Livermore's new Bankhead Theater. After seeing the show several times, it is clear to me that the Disney people responsible for "Beauty" not only spent much of their youth in the thrall of classic Broadway musicals, but paid close attention as well. This...

In Act...
