Summer Squall, winner of the 1990 Preakness Stakes and sire of 1999 Horse of the Year Charismatic, was euthanized Tuesday, his former owners said. Curlin, the 2007 Horse of the Year and the richest racehorse in North American racing history, will stand stud at Lane's End Farm near Versailles, Ky. Lane's End officials, in a release Friday, said Curlin would stand for $75,000 in 2009. Jess Jackson's Stonestreet Farm owns 80 percent of the interest in Curlin, which has won more than $10.5 million over the last two years.
