Miller died Friday at 64 of complications from type 2 diabetes. Utah Jazz owner Larry Miller died in Salt Lake City Friday following a lengthy fight against type 2 diabetes, the team said. He was 64. In a brief statement, the Jazz said Miller was surrounded by family at his home when he died. Miller owned the NBA franchise for the last 23 years.

By Heather May, The Salt Lake Tribune Jul. 18--Diabetic patients rarely end up in the hospital for more than a month like Larry Miller. But the Jazz owner and business magnate's poor health underscores the seriousness of a disease that continues to grow in Utah.
