THE UK's fastest broadband is coming to Tyneside where 7,000 jobs are being created. Gateshead Council revealed today that is has joined forces with Alcatel-Lucent Telecoms to bring a super superhighway to the pounds 300m Baltic Business Quarter. A HOAXER who staged a hi-tech bomb scare at a Tyneside call centre has admitted abducting and abusing a teenage girl after posing as a school boy. James Chester, 22, of Fratton, Portsmouth, used a fake birth certificate to enrol at a school where he was able to befriend a 13- year-old girl, whose parents believed he was a school boy. A PATIENT has been found dead in a Tyneside hospital. John McLaughlin was receiving treatment in the Tranwell Unit at Gateshead's Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The 25-year-old, of Woodburn Gardens, Lobley Hill, Gateshead, was discovered dead in the mental health unit on June 29. A post-mortem has failed to pinpoint the cause of death. A SCHOOL burglar has been ordered to pay compensation after a computer raid. Drunken Craig Smith smashed his way into St Joseph's RC Primary in Blaydon, Gateshead, to pay off a debt. He broke fire doors to two classrooms, causing pounds 600 damage, and legged it with two laptops worth pounds 900 each.
