Researchers from the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology recently set out to better understand how social norms are acquired.

In a new paper, researchers conclude that chimpanzees are indeed willing to do favors for others, leading them to believe our prosocial behavior may date back further than previously thought.
