Space Shuttle Atlantis, ready for liftoff on Friday, will deliver important hardware from Europe to the International Space Station: spare portions of the European Robotic Arm and the first Russian payloads to use the arm.
Russiaâ€™s space agency on Tuesday launched a new module with plans to revive its efforts to add to the International Space Station.
The impressive robotic arm is over eleven metres in length and weighs 630 kg. Once ERA reaches the International Space Station (ISS), the Russian Multipurpose Laboratory Module (MLM) will be its home base.
