By The Associated Press Bertha weakens MIAMI (AP) -- Forecasters say Hurricane Bertha has weakened to a Category 1 storm as it heads toward Bermuda, but could re-strengthen in the next 24 hours. Forecasters said Bertha has started producing large swells and high surf there. As of about 5 p.m. EDT Thursday, the center of the storm was about 425 miles southeast of Bermuda.
