Huron-Manistee National Forests are two national forests located in the lower peninsula of Michigan. The forests were combined in 1945 and hold 978,906 acres of public lands, wetlands, and other lands and waters. Huron National Forest, established in 1909, and Manistee National Forest, established in 1938, are not connected, but they had to be combined due to administrative issues.
