The Nelson Fire Service was called out twice yesterday afternoon to the Church Steps at the top of Trafalgar St after trees were set alight. Station officer Grahame Kurth said it appeared that overhanging leaves on two palm trees were deliberately set on fire just before 4pm and 5pm.
