Astrophysicists have detected pulsed gamma-ray emissions from the Crab pulsar with energies that exceed 100 billion electron-volts (GeV). A team including 20 chain-saw operators from Southern Arizona is in Texas prepared to assist in the cleanup of damage from Hurricane Ike. Firefighters fought and monitored several fires Sunday in the Coronado National Forest and Saguaro National Park. No structures were damaged, and there were no injuries, officials said. The Nuevo and White Tank fires, five miles west of Tubac, have burned about 9,600 acres in Coronado forest.
