The Taiwanese government's $2.6 billion spending stimulus package appears to be finding its way into retail cash registers, a major retailer said. The government offered each island resident $108 to stimulate spending, CNN reported Monday. The government began issuing vouchers Sunday and by Monday Interior Minister Liao Liou-yi said 91.3 percent of those eligible had already received them. Retail chain Carrefour said Sunday revenues were up 30 percent.
